September, My New Year
Every September feels like a fresh start for me. Yes, it’s my birthday month, but more than that, it has always felt like my own version of New Year’s Eve—a moment to pause, reflect, and set intentions for the year ahead.
Looking back on this past year, I’m thankful for so much. I took a leap of faith and put myself out there in a way I never had before. I started sharing my style, my finds, and my point of view more openly—and in doing so, I discovered a community I didn’t even know I was missing.
Through Secrets N Style, I’ve met people across the globe who inspire me daily. I’ve had the privilege of helping others with style picks that often carry personal meaning—whether it’s choosing something to wear for a milestone moment or finding a “look for less” that feels just as chic as the splurge. What began as me simply sharing has turned into a two-way conversation, and for that I’m deeply grateful.
Another highlight has been connecting with small, independent brands and boutiques. Supporting women—whether just starting out or reinventing themselves later in life—remains close to my heart. But I also love spotlighting other small businesses: husband-and-wife teams building something together, or designers like Alvin Valley, whose story and craft embody the spirit of entrepreneurship. These partnerships—built on admiration rather than monetary gain—have brought me joy I didn’t anticipate. They’ve reminded me that style isn’t only about what we wear, but about the people and stories behind it.
So as I step into another September, I’m looking ahead with excitement: for new friendships, new opportunities, and new discoveries—big and small—that make life feel stylish, meaningful, and connected.
